Girl recovering after car crashes into stroller in Shirley

A 3-year-old girl is recovering today after her stroller was rammed by a hit-and-run driver.
Scott Shea, 30, apologized to Lismar Char's family on his way to court today and said he hit her by accident.
Police say Shea drove his SUV into the stroller carrying Lismar yesterday on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley and drove away.
Witnesses claim they saw Shea texting behind the wheel.
News 12 has exclusively learned the child's mother was also holding her 8-month-old when the SUV hit the stroller. The 3-year-old was thrown into a sign and landed on the median.
News 12 has learned Shea was arrested in 2009 on multiple gun charges and sentenced to 42 months in prison. He is currently on parole.
Shea was arraigned today on a felony charge for leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries.
