Prices at the pump continue to climb for drivers this summer.
Gas Buddy says the national average is now $3.18 for a gallon of regular gas. That's the highest it has been since October 2014.
Experts say not to worry because demand will start to drop once vacation season ends and more companies postpone employees returning to work.
"Gas prices are very cyclical. They tend to rise in the summer sometime in June, July, August and go down in the fall bottoming out sometime in December or January," says Robert Sinclair, of AAA. "That's the normal rising and falling of prices based on demand."
Gas Buddy says if you've got cash, one of the cheapest places to get gas is at the Citgo on Jericho Turnpike in East Northport. It will cost you $2.99 a gallon. The OK Petroleum on Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead is also cheaper than other spots, with gas going for $3.03 a gallon.
