The main parking lot, P2, will be closed an estimated two to three years as the airport undergoes a $4 billion upgrade.
Due to the shortage of parking, the Port Authority advises travelers to take mass transit to LaGuardia. The MTA suggests taking the LIRR to Woodside and then boarding the Q70 bus to LaGuardia.
The LaGuardia makeover is expected to be finished by 2021.
