Funeral plans are set for a Shoreham-Wading River football player who died after being injured during a game.
School officials say Thomas Cutinella, 16, collided with another player during Shoreham-Wading River High School's game Wednesday night at John Glenn High School in Elwood.
Police say Cutinella was rushed to Huntington Hospital, where he underwent emergency brain surgery, but died a short time later.
A candlelight vigil was held for Cutinella Friday night at Shoreham-Wading River High School, which was attended by hundreds.
Visitation for Cutinella will be held at Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Wading River Sunday and Monday. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday.
The exact cause of Cutinella's death is currently unclear.
