Loved ones remembered a young father killed in a drive-by shooting in Plainview Monday.

The funeral for 27-year-old Justin Gottlieb was held at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Hicksville.

On a GoFundMe page, a family friend described Gottlieb as "ridiculously intelligent" and "pure-hearted".

So far, more than $107,000 has been raised for Gottlieb's fiancée and young daughter.

No one has been arrested for his murder. As News 12 reported, detectives believe Gottleib was shot following a road rage incident on his way home from work at rush hour.

"There was mention of him being followed by this car and that something had occurred on the way home," says Det. Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick.
Police say Gottlieb made it to Margaret Drive East, parked and was attempting to get out of the car near his home when he was shot.

Police say Gottlieb was driving a red Ford Explorer and the suspect was in a light or white four-door sedan.
Detectives say they are reviewing videos, but are still looking for the public's help in finding the shooter.

"Anybody that was on the roads that day, if they saw this Explorer, interacting with a white four-door sedan, whether it looked like a road rage, or some kind of argument, or anything that looked out of the ordinary," says Det. Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick.

It's not clear which route Gottlieb took home, but police say he was on the roads from Jericho to Plainview between 5 and 5:30 p.m. last Tuesday afternoon.
