The Lindenhurst community came together Sunday to honor the mother who died saving her daughter on Mother's Day.
A fundraiser is being held in honor of Diane Aluska.
The 55-year-old and her teenage daughter were walking on Wellwood Avenue in May when a driver backed into them.
Aluska pushed her daughter out of the way, saving her life.
Sunday's fundraiser was held at Fireman's Pavilion on Hartford Street.
