The
eastbound side of the Long Island Expressway is closed at exit 53 due to a fuel
spill.
Police
say a car sideswiped a utility truck this morning and the fuel tank on that
truck ruptured.
About
55 gallons of fuel leaked out.
The
Department of Environmental Conservation is on the scene to clean the spill -
which has been contained.
News 12 has been told part of
the LIE is expected to be closed for most of the day.
