Flooding woes worsened snow cleanup efforts in many South Shore communities Sunday.
Roads looked more like rivers in coastal parts of Babylon Sunday following the blizzard of 2016, particularly around high tide.
Flooding was also reported in places like Long Beach, Freeport, Mastic Beach and Lindenhurst.
The storm came during a full moon, making tidal problems even worse. Coastal flood warnings and advisories had been issued for the South Shore.
On Hemlock Drive in Mastic Beach, the water was about a foot deep. And in Lindenhurst, the water came up through storm drains and surged over bulkheads, carrying great chunks of ice along with it.
