Friends and relatives of a 20-year-old Marine who died while training for a combat tour in Iraq remembered him as a fine young man Thursday.
Many tears were shed at the funeral of Luciano Reyes, a North Babylon High School graduate who went by the nickname Junior. Reyes died at a military training camp in California that simulates the dangerous conditions of Iraqi urban warfare. Reyes' brother says the young Marine died serving his country, an honor he relished.
Reyes is survived by his two parents, twin brother, as well as another brother and sister.
