Friends and family are holding out hope that a paddleboarder missing from Atlantic Beach since Sunday will be found.
Gary Turkel, 41, was last seen by a lifeguard on a blue paddleboard Sunday afternoon. He was wearing blue shorts and a white T-shirt. The lifeguard says he was not wearing a lifejacket.
Chopper 12 was overhead Monday as Coast Guard and police marine boats searched the waters. More than 75 volunteers joined the search Tuesday.
Authorities say they are concerned that the paddleboard may have washed up on shore and someone may have taken it home, not realizing that it was connected to a missing person's case.
There is a $5,000 reward for the paddleboard.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
