Pre-K teachers in the Franklin Square School District got a lesson plan Wednesday from Finland's Kide Science Team.

Kide Science was created after years of academic research at the University of Helsinki. Teachers had the opportunity to see them showcase a story-based curriculum that provides lessons combining science, technology, engineering, arts and math, or STEAM.

The goal was to let teachers see STEAM lessons through the eyes of their students.

"The teachers are excited about having the opportunity to provide hands-on learning experiences for our youngest learners and to develop their natural curiosity in the learning environment," said Franklin Square School Deputy Superintendent Maura Gallagher.
