A former youth pastor from Seaford accused of sexually abusing a teenager remains behind bars after not posting $100,000 bail during his arraignment Saturday.
Jesse Vargas, 37, is facing several charges including a criminal sex act - a felony which could carry a sentence of up to four years in prison.
A temporary order of protection was also issued.
Police say Vargas met his victim 10 years ago when she was just 13 while he was working as a youth pastor at a Christian retreat in Michigan.
They say two years later, Vargas invited the young girl to his house on Seaman's Neck Road in Seaford where he allegedly sexually abused her.
