Suffolk County's former top prosecutor and his top aide are now in federal prison.
Former Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas J. Spota and Government Corruption Bureau Chief Christopher McPartland have both surrendered to their designated federal prisons, according to a knowledgeable source.
Both men were convicted of covering up then-Suffolk Police Chief James Burke's beating of a handcuffed suspect.
