A former Long Island shock jock has been accused of choking and assaulting a woman.
Anthony Cumia, of "Opie and Anthony" fame, was arrested Saturday and arraigned in Hempstead court Sunday morning.
According to court papers obtained by News 12, Cumia and his 26-year-old girlfriend had an argument about one of Cumia's ex-girlfriends at his Roslyn Heights home on Saturday.
Prosecutors say when the victim tried to leave, Cumia carried her back into his house, attempted to strangle her, broke her rib and stomped on her hand.
Police say when she tried to call 911, he smashed her cell phone.
The aftermath was taped by the victim and is now going viral.
The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries.
Cumia was slapped with a series of charges, including assault and attempted strangulation. He was released without bail, and ordered to stay away from the victim.
He is out on bail, but will be back in court on Jan. 4.
