Case adjourned until May 16 for former Good Samaritan nurse accused of slamming newborn
Former Good Samaritan nurse Amanda Burke's case has been adjourned until May 16, a spokesperson for the Suffolk district attorney says.
Burke was set to appear in court Tuesday to face formal charges for allegedly slamming a newborn in February.
Video captured by the baby's father shows what appears to be Burke mishandling a 2-day-old baby in the NICU.
The 29-year-old nurse was fired from the West Islip hospital hours later.
Burke surrendered to police and was charged with endangering the welfare of a child in April.
The Suffolk district attorney says Burke still has a license to practice as a registered nurse.
