Scattered showers, some strong storms expected across Long Island tonight
News 12 meteorologists are watching the latter of two rounds of storms that were expected to bring some scattered showers and thunderstorms to Long Island toward Friday. Some thunderstorms will have damaging winds, heavy rain, and small hail.
Winds are expected to be 10 to 15 mph with lows between 55 to 60 degrees.
The first round of storms moved through the area by 7 p.m. A second batch of storms is expected after 10 p.m. through midnight.
On Saturday, expect some morning clouds to give way to mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will reach 70 to 75 degrees. Saturday night temperatures will dip down to 47 to 52 degrees.
Temperatures will then be much cooler for Sunday, with highs near 58 to 63 degrees.
