Lots of food, old-fashioned fun and a bit of magic are taking the center stage at the Long Island Fair at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration this weekend.
News 12’s Erin Colton checked out the festivities at the oldest fair in New York State.
Organizers say the event replicates what fairs used to look like in the 1800s. They say one of the highlights is the historical crafts, like the loom.
“That’s the charm of this place,” says organizer Gary Haglich. “You step back into another era, you have fun and you do things that you wouldn’t do anywhere else.”
Attendees can also make their own smoothies by using a bicycle to mix it.
The fair will continue into this weekend, running on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
