Neighbors in Floral Park voiced their frustrations Thursday about how they're being affected by the construction of a third Long Island Rail Road track in Nassau County.
"How much of a hardship is it going to cause to traffic patterns and everything?" Southside Civic President Frank Deangelis asked at the civic meeting.
Other Floral Park residents like Janet Damore came to voice concerns to MTA and LIRR representatives.
"I think we deserve some respect," she said. "We deserve to be informed, and we deserve respect. And we're not getting that."
Damore lives right next to the train tracks and says the construction impacts her everyday life and the value of her home.
"They need to do what they need to do and stop dragging it out," she said.
Many residents at the meeting said their biggest concern is cleanliness of the Floral Park train station. LIRR and MTA representatives said they are taking note.
