A condo fire destroyed seven units and damaged at least five others in Medford hours after a fire safety meeting in the condo community.
The fire occurred just before midnight at the 24-unit Blue Ridge Condominium complex. Officials say the 50 residents affected made it out safely.
The fire is the third at the complex in the past 18 months. There was one in December 2014 and another a few months ago.
Residents tell News 12 Long Island that the buildings were built in the 1970s and that there's no firewall.

"When one unit goes up it's tough to limit it to the one unit," says Rich Hansen, president of Condo 1.
