Flags across the state flew at half-staff Monday in honor of the four National Guard members killed in a helicopter crash in Iraq.
On Sunday night, the grief-stricken family of Commack's Christopher Raguso was at Dover Air Force base, where his remains were delivered.
Raguso returned to U.S. soil with another of the fallen, Christopher Zanetis, of Queens, who also lived in Hampton Bays for a time.
Also killed in the crash were Dashan Briggs, of Port Jefferson Station, and Andreas O'Keeffe, of Center Moriches.
Three other airmen died when their Air Force chopper went down in Anbar Province in western Iraq last week. Family members and friends are devastated.
All four New York Air National Guard members killed were assigned to the 106th Rescue Wing in Westhampton Beach.
The Department of Defense says enemy fire did not bring the aircraft down.
