A fireball in the sky was caught on camera in the Long Island night sky Monday night.
A dashcam was rolling in New Jersey when it captured a bright meteor falling to Earth.
Meteorologists say fireballs occur more frequently than one may think.
"They occur every day but usually it's over the ocean or sometimes during the day where you necessarily wouldn't be able to spot it," says News 12 meteorologist Samantha Augeri.
The American Meteor Society says it took more than 330 sighting calls Monday night.
