A fire tore through a multi-tenant house Saturday in New Cassel, according to officials.
Authorities say 40 firefighters responded to the scene on Hicks Street just after 4 p.m. They found flames on the first floor and the basement.
No residents were home at the time and the flames were extinguished in under 25 minutes.
Fire officials say the incident is not considered suspicious. However, the home was severely damaged and deemed uninhabitable.
