A café&nbsp;went up in
flames and some adjacent storefronts suffered damage in South Farmingdale on
Monday night, according to officials.

The<b> </b>fire broke out at Café&nbsp;La Bella
Notte, located on Merritts Road around 9:30 p.m.

The owner of Cafe La Bella Notte said he doesn't
know what his next move is or<b> </b>how he will reopen.

The fire broke out at a commercial building located on Merritts Road around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

The worst of it, the coldest and then temperatures will start to get a little bit warmer and the breeze will die down. So we have this bitter blast in place, bitter blast in place for one more day. It will feel like the twenties with the strong winds, we still have winds gusting close to 30 in some spots. Right now, you the strongest winds are tonight and then by tomorrow morning they get a little bit better. The wind will be shifting more to the west, southwest. Eventually that will allow our temperatures to get a little bit warmer. 6 a.m. 29 in Glencoe feeling like 2129 in Southampton feeling like 20. And you see the afternoon, we barely get to 40 in most spots. And throughout the day, wind chills are in the twenties. So it's another cold one just like today, we have a little bit more in the way of sunshine. And then Thursday we start to warm up clear skies overnight. No more flurries around more of a southwest wind. Thursday is my pick of the week for lots of sunshine. It will be a beautiful seasonable day. On Friday, clouds are going to move in and we have rain for the evening. So Friday afternoon, Friday night, it's raining a break on Saturday. We're in the fifties for the weekend and showers will return through early next week. It's unsettled. We'll get back to a breeze and some chilly weather for the middle of.

Fire rips through café in South Farmingdale

some new information now on a fire that is forcing a still new South Farmingdale coffee shop to close Caroline Flynn is at that scene, we're outside of Cafe La Bella note and just a little while ago I was looking at their social media pages, the beautiful pastries, delicious looking pastries unfortunately the display case they put them in is now outside with me as the inside of this business was completely destroyed in the fire, the owner just saying today, he is overwhelmed with it the holiday season as firefighters from South Farmingdale fire department worked to put out the blaze, a big concern of course was for the adjacent storefronts in this small strip mall. Now luckily the two businesses that bordered on Cafe La Bella note, they were empty, there was no businesses that occupied them at the time, there was damage inside though there is two doors down a sandwich shop, Irving's and what we just learned from the owner is unfortunately smoke got into the building and a lot of steps need to happen before they can reopen. They said it's really going to have to be like a christmas miracle, the laundry list of things that have to go right and really coming at such an awful time for them coming right before christmas, you know this is some of our busiest time of the year, I was here all day, yesterday was really busy, it was busy all day and then I even left right right before before everything happened so it's definitely, it's detrimental right now. Their projection right now unfortunately is to reopen after the holiday. But they said they're doing everything in their power to make it. So it's before the christmas holiday now. As for Cafe La Bella note, the owner said, he just doesn't know what his next step is, his next plan when it comes to reopening the business. But of course, we'll keep you updated to any changes with that back to you in the studio for now.
