Some cars damaged in fire at Cruise Control Limousines in East Farmingdale
Firefighters were brought back to East Farmingdale on Tuesday when flames from a limo company fire rekindled.
News 12 video shows debris scattered across the parking lot of Cruise Control Limousines.
The restoration crew was at the location early Tuesday and Monday night.
The crew was inside the showroom garage around 11 p.m. when they saw the fire rekindle. Fire crews arrived shortly after.
A dozen fire companies responded to the scene at 5 p.m. Monday when flames were shooting through the roof.
Two employees were inside the building and were able to escape safely.
Officials say the flames were so intense that firefighters were forced outside the building.
Cruise Control Limousines has been a family-owned and operated business since 1988.
News 12 spoke with the owner, Ash Ghuman, on Tuesday. He's remaining optimistic as they're assessing the damage. Some cars were destroyed, but luckily no one was seriously hurt.
"It's bad, but it could be worse," Ghuman says.
He says they lost a few vehicles but still have the majority of their fleet.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. In the meantime, the owner is asking future brides and grooms to be patient.
He plans to reach out and work with each client to make sure everyone has a ride on their wedding days.
The business will continue to operate out of its Westbury location.
The limo company created a GoFundMe to help the business.
They have raised thousands of dollars that will go toward new vehicles and other office needs.
