Two people were airlifted to the hospital after a fire pit exploded in Bridgehampton.

The call for help came just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

Police responded to a home on Kellis Way where they found multiple people with severe burns from the blast.

Two adults were rushed to the hospital by helicopter and are in critical condition. Two others also had to be treated.

It was not clear what caused the explosion.
