A fire Sunday night gutted the iconic Francesco's Bakery in Hicksville.
Flames broke out at the South Broadway bakery around 11:30 p.m. The owner says he got a text message alerting him to the fire.
No injuries were reported. Legends on Broadway, a restaurant next door, sustained some damage.
Owner Francesco Guerrieri says he has almost 95 wedding cake orders and other specialty cakes due by the end of the week. He's hoping to rent an additional location with more space for refrigeration and ovens.
News 12 visited the Francesco's Bakery in North Massapequa, where employees were hard at work getting those cakes done.
Guerrieri says he believes the fire was electrical in nature and started in the roof area, but the fire marshal is working to determine the exact cause.
An insurance adjuster estimates the fire caused upward of $4 million in damage.
The bakery has been in business since 1986.
