A historic South Shore restaurant was charred by fire for the second time in less than a year.
Jon Thomas Inne initially had a grease fire on Dec. 5. The building was close to reopening when a second fire destroyed the building at 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Suffolk police say it is not suspicious.
The owners of the restaurant recently posted pictures on their Facebook page just a few weeks ago, letting customers know that they would soon be back in business.
Brightwaters Mayor Joseph McDermott says he will do everything he can to help restore the historic site.
