Lawmakers in Albany say they are close to a state budget deal, but that the final details are holding up the agreement.
State lawmakers have reportedly agreed to a tax freeze for homeowners and a $1 billion increase in state aid to schools. They are reportedly in disagreement over how the school aid will be divided between Long Island, New York City and upstate New York.
There is also reportedly disagreement surrounding the topic of campaign finance reform.
A budget bill needs to be printed by midnight to meet the April 1 deadline.
