A hometown hero just got a big gift to make his life easier.
The Fight for Firefighters Foundation came together with 30 children from the Pequa Ballers to build a ramp for a retired Nassau detective.
The man is about to return to his Seaford home from rehab after being injured.
Organizers say "they volunteered their safety and time to show their service for us, so it's nice to repay them when they need our help.”
The ramp was dedicated to Steven Pollard and Timothy Klein, who were killed in the line of duty for the FDNY.
