NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALERTS: Winter Weather Advisory in effect for northern Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Sullivan and western Ulster counties until 4 p.m. Tuesday

Snow is moving through the Hudson Valley with some areas seeing a slushy few inches accumulating by the time it is over.

The system will be moving out before the 5 p.m. rush.

Expect slick and sloppy travel, especially on any untreated surfaces. The higher elevations of the Catskills may see more than 3 inches.

Drier conditions, but gusty winds, move in for Christmas Eve. Christmas Day is mostly dry, but there is a small chance of rain late in the day.

Kwanzaa begins Friday, and a storm system will try to bring snow showers for the second half of the day.

Sunday has another chance for a storm system moving into the region, with rain and snow showers possible.

We wrap up 2025 next Wednesday night with New Year’s Eve. So far, dry and cold conditions are expected to ring in 2026.
