A federal court has ruled that New York state can continue to take legal action against Nassau County over its transgender athlete ban.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman was seeking a temporary restraining order against Attorney General Letitia James, who says the ban is illegal.
Thursday's court ruling did not address the legality of Blakeman's transgender athlete ban.
The ban prevents female sports groups from using county parks and fields if they allow transgender women and girls to play. Blakeman has argued it is about safety and fairness.
