New York City's bravest and finest will soon be stepping into the boxing ring to compete in the long-awaited "NYC Battle of the Badges" – the first matchup between the NYPD and FDNY since 2015.
The event, which will take place at Terminal 5 in Manhattan and is sold out, will benefit two charities – Tunnel to Towers and the NYC Cops and Kids Boxing Program.
At the last match-up, the NYPD beat the FDNY, drawing their all-time records to an even 16-16.
"It's important to show that even though it's two different departments, they are going for something important," said NYPD Officer Nisa Rodriguez, who is involved in the event. "It's bragging rights for the city. Naturally, both teams want to be on top."
Those interested in watching the event can purchase the event's livestream for $20 in advance, or $30 day of on March 31.
