Scams are on the rise across Long Island, according to new statistics from the FBI.
The bureau says more than 3,000 scams were reported on Long Island last year. Victims were defrauded out of more than $125,000,000.
Nassau County residents handed over $73,902,056. In Suffolk, losses totaled $53,964,294.
The new data comes as Nassau police made a series of arrests in scams allegedly targeting senior citizens. Investigators say criminals targeted victims in Saddle Rock, Valley Stream and Flower Hill.
