A fast-moving fire destroyed several cars and injured one person at a lot in North Patchogue.
The Brookhaven town fire marshal says the fire that damaged eight cars is considered accidental.
Officials tell News 12 that while a worker was removing parts from a vehicle with a cutting torch, the car caught fire.
Authorities say the worker thought he put out the fire but that was not the case. The fire spread to seven other vehicles.
Bonnie Wick, of North Patchogue, says, "It was terrible and the smell, it was worse before. The smell it smelt like burnt tires."
