Two sisters from Farmingdale used their business to raise money for the families of victims in last month’s deadly bus crash.
Lisa Goodenough and Donna Russo, who are graduates from Farmingdale High School, own Goodenough Personalized Gifts. They teamed up with the Farmingdale Business Department to fundraise for the cause.
They created a Google document of items to be sold, which accrued orders for hoodies, tumblers and other personalized gifts within 24 hours.
It was met with an overwhelming response.
"By the next day, I had to close it because we had over 1,000 responses... We did reopen it again to get in other orders," Russo said.
Those items feature an exclusive decal design that was made by Farmingdale High School student Alessandra Grandine.
Volunteers helped prepare the orders and local businesses worked to get the exclusive decal on lawn signs and key chains, so all was ready for pickup this weekend.
The sisters say 100% of net proceeds will go to the families and members of the band.
