The Farmingdale Village Board passed a law Monday night banning tattoo parlors in the downtown area of the village.
In about two minutes, the issue was raised, resolved and passed, since not one resident attended the public hearing on the issue. Tattoo parlors are now allowed only in industrial areas of Farmingdale.
The new law will not affect any current businesses in downtown Farmingdale, since there are no tattoo parlors. It will prevent any new ones from opening.
Residents who spoke with News 12 said they were not aware of the vote and didn't like the new restrictions on tattoo shops.
