The body of a missing kayaker from Massapequa has been found in Washington state.

The family of Travis Valenti confirmed the discovery to News 12.

The 37-year-old was vacationing there and proposed to his girlfriend earlier this month.

Their trip of a lifetime took a tragic turn a few days later when Valenti is believed to have drowned in a kayaking incident on Lake Crescent.

The Valenti family has spent the time since pushing to bring him home.

With the help of GoFundMe and search and rescue organizations from across the country, they now hope to get his body back to the island to honor him properly.
