Over two dozen air traffic controllers will continue to work out of Long Island.
The Federal Aviation Administration rescinded an order that would have transferred 30 workers from its TRACON facility in Westbury to Philadelphia.
Employees and their families protested the decision. Sen. Charles Schumer also called on the FAA to cancel the transfer.
The FAA said the reshuffling was part of a plan to ease coverage issues across the busy Northeast.
