Nassau County homeowners faced a midnight deadline to file their property tax grievances.
The original deadline of April 30 was pushed back twice after a computer glitch.
The number of county taxpayers challenging their tentative 2020-21 property valuations has broken a record, with more than 253,000 grievances filed.
Some residents, along with Republican county lawmakers, have been vocal critics of Nassau County Executive Laura Curran's property assessment changes. They say this latest issue is more proof that Curran's rollout was, and remains flawed.
