In a News 12 exclusive, a dog owner says her French bulldog was mauled by two unleashed pit bulls inside of her Coney Island apartment building.

“Shock and honor,” said Diane Bradley. “I just wanted them to let go of my dog.”

It happened Sunday morning on West 29th Street.

Bradley said she was returning home from a walk when the two pit bulls attacked her 3-year-old dog, named Calypso.

“The first dog had Calypso’s head in its mouth and was clamping down,” said Bradley. “Calypso went limp.”

Cellphone video showed the aftermath of the attack, which includes a man hitting the pit bulls.

Witnesses said that the man was the pit bulls’ owner.

“I was shaken up from my previous incident where my dog was attacked by the same dogs,” said Leshia Palmer, who witnessed the attack.

Palmer also said her dog was attacked back in May, and one month later, the same pit bulls are accused of killing another dog.

Tenants said the pit bulls are often seen off-leash both in and out of the building.

News 12 attempted to reach the pit bull owner on Monday, but there was no response.

In a statement to News 12, the property manager, ELH Mgmt, wrote, "We are aware of the incident and are actively investigating what occurred. The safety and well-being of our residents—and their pets— are our top priorities, and we are taking this matter very seriously."

“No one feels safe walking their dogs,” said Palmer.

“I’m very dubious,” said Bradley. “I’m very afraid.”

Bradley said Calypso received several stitches, suffered a fractured shoulder and may lose sight in one eye.

News 12 was told that a police report has been filed and that the Department of Health is investigating.
