A Suffolk man was scammed and burglarized by two men posing as town workers, according to police. Suffolk police say the men knocked on the door, and claimed to be building inspectors from the town. They say the man, in his 80s, let them inside the house. The incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday on Cadman Avenue in West Babylon. Neighbors tell News 12 the men were in the home for about 30 minutes. Suffolk Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina says another family member came home to find that $10,000 and jewelry were gone from a bedroom in the house. Police say they believe this may have been targeted and no arrests have been made at this time. They say one of the suspects had a limp and a cane, and they both left in a dark Volvo SUV.
