Residents in 35 units at Snug Harbor Condominiums in Amityville say they know that their power could go out at any time.
What they don't know is what's being done about it.
They say the power outages are not storm-related, occur randomly - three or more times a year - and date back at least five years.
The retirement community does not have power lines, but an underground power cable, which PSEG Long Island says needs to be replaced.
The Village of Amityville issues permits to allow PSEG LI to fix the underground cable, but it told News 12 it had not received a required work plan from PSEG.
PSEG Long Island says it has resubmitted that work plan as of Tuesday afternoon.
It says it expects work to begin later this year.
