A former staffer for Assembly Member Joseph DeStefano has filed a lawsuit claiming he sexually harassed her.
Lynn Zigrosser worked as the director for community affairs for DeStefano for 19 months starting in 2023.
Zigrosser says DeStefano, the Republican who represents the 3rd Assembly District, pressured her into a romantic relationship and forced her to resign about a month after they broke up. She also claims DeStefano didn't pay her for numerous hours of overtime.
Zigrosser is seeking unpaid wages, as well as punitive damages.
DeStefano’s attorney says he denies the allegations and that they plan on defending his reputation in court.
