It's never too late to say thank you, even over 50 years later!

Ex-Smithtown firefighter Thomas D’Arcangelo was surprised at Monday’s department meeting.

The family of a man he saved back in 1972 came to reunite with him.

They recalled the terrifying moment when their father stopped breathing at their Smithtown home.

D’Arcangelo performed life-saving CPR on the man, who went on to make a full recovery, and lived another 43 years.
