The Mets' former team mascot says a federal agent once threatened his life. 
In a new book, the man who used to wear the "Mr. Met" costume said he wanted to meet President Clinton during a visit to Shea Stadium in 1997. However, the baseball head on the costume didn't fit through a metal detector. 
That is when AJ Mass says a Secret Service agent told him, if he went near Clinton, there was a possibility he would be shot by one of the snipers stationed around the ballpark.
