A gunman who fled the country and sparked an international manhunt has now pleaded guilty to murdering a teen at a Hicksville wedding in 1999.
Balkumar Singh pleaded guilty Wednesday to gunning down 19-year-old Abzul Kahn.
Prosecutors say Singh fatally shot Kahn after a fight on the dance floor at the Masonic Temple in Hicksville.
According to police, Singh left the party and waited outside with a gun. As guests left the reception, Singh opened fire, striking Kahn seven times and killing him.
Singh fled the country and was a fugitive for 16 years before authorities arrested him in Trinidad last year.
The 38-year-old is due back in court on Dec. 12 for sentencing. He faces 19 years to life in prison.
