A 10-year-old girl was seriously injured in Woodbury Tuesday evening after an alleged drunken driver crashed into her mother's car.
Police say Eugene Golden, 59, of Huntington, was driving drunk when he crashed his Mercedes Benz SUV into an oncoming car on Woodbury Road around 9 p.m
The car that was struck was driven by a 43-year-old female. Police say her 10-year-old daughter was also in the car.
The girl suffered a head injury and is listed in critical condition, according to police.
Golden was treated for minor injuries at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, and was arraigned at his bedside Wednesday afternoon.
Golden told a police officer that earlier in the evening he had eight glasses of wine over the course of two hours at a cocktail party, according to court documents.
