EPA announces plan to take on PFAS chemicals in drinking water
Long Island environmental experts say the plan is a good start, but lacks some specific details they were hoping for.

As Long Island's environmental community continues to sound the alarm about PFAS, or "forever chemicals," in our drinking water, the EPA released a framework Monday on how they plan to address them.
PFAS are chemicals used in many household products, and they do not break down over time.
The EPA, now headed by former Long Island Rep. Lee Zeldin, says they will take steps like setting a limit for how much of the chemicals manufacturers can expel into waterways.
However, the plan does not specifically talk about enforcing the new PFAS drinking water standard established by the previous administration.
