End of an era: Long Beach Cinemas, first opened in 1930, closes

A staple of the Long Beach community for over 90 years is now closed.
Long Beach Cinemas, which was located on the corner of Park Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard, first opened in 1930.
The local movie theater has dealt with multiple closures in recent years. It took nearly three years following flooding from Superstorm Sandy to open its doors. Then it shut down for two years during the COVID-19 pandemic before it reopened in May 2022.
