Employee accused of selling cocaine out of Ronkonkoma pizzeria
An employee was arrested Tuesday for allegedly selling cocaine at Ronkonkoma pizzeria Mama Mia's.
Police executed a search warrant at the home of 54-year-old Pacido Buscemi, where they say they recovered guns, more than $115,000 in cash, and other evidence of a large drug operation. His stepson Noumda Acosta was also arrested.
Suffolk Police Commissioner Tim Sini says they recovered ¾ of a kilogram of cocaine, which has a street value of $45,000. He says they also discovered 200 pills of the addictive opioid Roxicodone, a loaded AR-15 rifle and a loaded 12-gauge Winchester shotgun.
Despite surveillance cameras in the area, police say Buscemi would sell the cocaine behind Mama Mia's pizzeria. The owner's sister told News 12 that no one who works there had any idea about what he was allegedly doing.
She says he told them he would go out back to take naps.
The pizzeria has been in business for about 15 years. Buscemi worked on and off there for about four years. Police did not say how long they believe he was allegedly selling drugs.
Buscemi was arraigned on various gun and weapons charges. His bail was set at $50,000.
